ZAMITA Phase I Final Report
The Zambian Industrial Training Academy (ZAMITA) Phase I, implemented between 2015 and 2019, was a public-private partnership led by UNIDO, Volvo, Sida, and NORTEC. The project established a modern training academy focused on heavy equipment repair, upgraded facilities with state-of-the-art equipment, developed an industry-relevant curriculum, and trained 680 youths. It also introduced career services, enhanced female participation in technical fields, and strengthened industry linkages for internships and employment, contributing to closing Zambia’s skills gap in mining and related industries.
