STEP 1: Know Your Students
This 4 part step-by-step toolkit provides templates that the LKDF team has used to monitor and evaluate its vocational training PPDPs. They have been developed specifically for the LKDF’s purposes and might require adaptation before they can be used in different contexts. Nevertheless, they serve as a good reference point for people aiming to look deeper into M&E of vocational training PPDPs.
In a first step, the quantitative baseline data from students will be collected. This will done during the first few weeks of training. This baseline survey will be complemented by an endline survey which will be conducted approx. 6 months after students have completed the training. The comparison between the two surveys will allow the M&E team to draw conclusions about how the training has affected the students’ lives. The surveys can further be complemented with qualitative interviews with students and other stakeholders which can be conducted together with the quantitative endline survey.
