Context

Participation in global supply chains has been shown to be an important driver of productivity gains and employment creation, but social and environmental conditions in supply chains have, in many cases, improved little.

The Forum thus emphasizes the critical role of skills development in achieving sustainability in supply chains, particularly in light of the increasing number of mandatory due diligence regulations being adopted and implemented in the Global North. The discussions will revolve around how developing and industrializing economies can better position themselves in global supply chains by improving skills and knowledge relevant to sustainable industrialization.

Requests to attend the first day of the event in person at the VIC should be submitted to lkd-facility@unido.org.

Attendance in person is only confirmed upon receiving an e-mail confirmation from the LKDF team.
